If you suspect your child has autism or if your child has been referred to the Canadian Psychotherapy Centre for ASD testing, you aren’t alone. Our compassionate and caring team is here with you every step of the way. Conducting an Autism Spectrum Disorder assessment allows us to determine your child's strengths and weaknesses, helping you provide them with the best future possible.
At Canadian Psychotherapy Centre, we focus on identifying ASD-related challenges alongside your child's strengths and potential. The insights gained from this child psychological assessment can guide therapeutic and educational interventions tailored specifically to their needs.
In addition to psychoeducational and ADHD assessments, we provide comprehensive ASD testing, specifically designed for evaluating Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This evaluation is tailored for children and teens who may have high-functioning ASD.
A precise diagnosis and a clear understanding of how your child’s brain operates are essential for equipping them with the right tools and support to achieve their full potential. Through our Autism Spectrum Disorder Assessment, we thoroughly assess a person’s cognitive abilities, processing skills, language skills, social skills, academic capabilities, and their overall perspective of the world.
With the right support and strategies, many children with ASD can experience happiness and success throughout their lives.
ASD testing, or Autism Spectrum Disorder assessment, aims to understand an individual’s developmental, cognitive, and behavioural profile. This assessment is crucial for diagnosing ASD and guiding future intervention and educational strategies. Typically, the process involves a comprehensive child psychological assessment that includes various evaluations.
Your child’s psychologist gathers background information, along with details regarding behavioral patterns, social skills, and more. As part of the ASD testing process, we will also review your child’s developmental history and medical records during the Autism Spectrum Disorder assessment, ensuring a comprehensive child psychological assessment.
Initial screening tools for Autism Spectrum Disorder assessment may involve questionnaires or checklists. Further testing during ASD testing assesses: Cognitive and language skills, behavioural patterns or restrictions, emotional patterns, and social skills as part of a comprehensive child psychological assessment.
The final step involves providing recommendations for interventions, therapies, educational supports, and accommodations following the ASD testing results. This Autism Spectrum Disorder assessment plan is designed to support the child’s development, enhance their strengths, and address their specific needs identified during the child psychological assessment.
